Our team…

What started as a couple of kids with a dream of producing Pork…

We started our lifelong careers in Agriculture, in industrial agriculture; high input, high output and the focus on profit at all costs. After a family health issue & passing of a close family member in a short amount of time we began to question many aspects of lifestyle, food, industrialised systems; the cost to the environment, animals, food…

It was to be a pivotal point in our lives and became a catalyst for lifestyle, values and career changes.  This is where the story of McIvor Farm Foods began.

JASON HAGAN

Jason grew up on the farm originally and now has raised his family in the home he was raised in. Once a property that ran sheep, Jason had a passion and a drive to make change on the property. He formally studied Farm Business Management at Marcus Oldham College in Geelong. He has since travelled across Australia working and managing farm operations of varying scales and methodologies, building expertise up across cropping, livestock (sheep and cattle) and outdoor bred piggeries.

Jason’s passion for innovative farming methods has seen him transform traditional farmland into fertile regenerative land. He’s interested in working with and learning alongside the industry’s best and seeks to leave a thriving legacy for the next generation.

You’ll see him at one of the farmer’s markets McIvor Farm attend across Victoria each weekend. While modest upon first meeting, Jason comes alive when talking about the farm, animals and what it means to farm regeneratively.

As an innovator, Jason always working on the next new development, system or enterprise for the business.  You’ll see him at one of the farmer’s markets McIvor Farm attend across Victoria each weekend. BELINDA HAGAN

Belinda Hagan (nee Jennings) grew up in Geelong with her parents families stemming from around Winchelsea and the Otways.  Living in rural towns and communities was the background of her family and lead Belinda to explore agriculture, even though she did not grow up on a farm.  Belinda ventured off to La Trobe University in Bundoora – which felt like the big smoke!  She studied Agricultural Science and this led her to complete an Honours Thesis in ‘The effect of water intake in piglets and suckling frequency’.  The exposure to the pig industry all those years ago!

Belinda gained a passion for Animal Nutrition during university and drove her focus on this as a career.  Working with one of the largest stockfeed manufacturers in Australia, then consultants, smaller feed mills, years of general nutrition for many animal species but her love for the pig industry and pigs always steered her focus in one direction.

Belinda has been involved in all aspects of developing McIvor Farm, A great part of Belinda’s life is also creating a legacy for their two kids Hannah and Eric, she is focused on creating a great life for their family and connecting with their community.

HANNAH

Hannah is truly the glue of our family. Always there to help and listen and to empathise with our woes.

ERIC

A ‘farm kid’ in every sense of the word. He can back a trailer better than most adults and has gained many skills in his short time on earth. When asked if he liked farming pigs his response was “I like pigs, they’re good but there are a lot of work compared to sheep and cattle”
